Las Vegas wasn’t a host city, but it was a great place to watch. At Tailgate Beach Club, the marquee matches played at stadium scale on wall-to-wall LED screens over five pools, so the goals, the upsets, and the penalty shootouts landed with arena energy poolside.

Why fans watched the World Cup at a pool instead of a bar

World Cup matches were a daytime event, which made them perfect for a Vegas pool. Instead of crowding into a sports bar, fans got a wall-to-wall screen visible from anywhere, five pools to cool off in at halftime, 22 VIP cabanas for their groups, and room for 1,800 fans. It was the closest thing to being in the stadium without leaving the Strip.
